DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE PRACTICES

Dolphin holds students to standards that are both developmentally appropriate for their age and scaffold their learning based on their current knowledge and skills. We make the learning process a joyful one by tapping into a child’s interests and ensuring age appropriate academics. Rote memorization and drill worksheets have no place in Dolphin classrooms.

AUTHENTIC LEARNING EXPERIENCES

We are an extremely hands-on school that encourages learning through touch, play, and discovery through the senses. Hard-work, dedication, and persistency are qualities that we celebrate. Young children are given so much support to develop and grow into confident, young leaders. We encourage open-ended conversations, independence, and taking risks. The caring learning community that we create enables a child to feel safe to take risks as they reach new milestones.
